Remembering The Duke of Edinburgh

June 10th 1921- 9th April 

At 99 years old, Prince Philip has passed away peacefully. As the oldest  member of the British Royal Family, Prince Philip carried out over 22,000 royal appointments world wide.

Having only retired from his royal duties 3 years ago, The Prince dedicated much of his life to his role. Most of us (if we’re lucky) get to retire at 65; imagine still doing your at 96! From Prince of Greece and Denmark, to Commander of the British Navy, to Queen Consort; the Duke of Edinburgh certainly lived out a completely unique experience. 

Credited with helping to modernise the Royal Family in the 20th century, the Prince married the Queen in 1947; to say you’ve been married for 74 years is a monumental achievement for anyone. 

Regardless of your opinion of the Royal Family, to live that long and experience the world the way he did has produced some incredible stories.
